Nigerians on social media have reacted to the ongoing spat between the Comptroller General of the Nigerian Customs, Hameed Ali and the Nigerian Senate over his uniform.

Recall that the Nigerian Senate had requested the presence of the Comptroller General of the Nigerian Customs Service, NCS, over issues bordering on the new import duty requested from car users and the search and seizure operation embarked by the officials of the agency.

The Nigerian senate however demanded the Customs boss to appear before it in his official uniform to which he replied in an interview with TVC that he was appointed into office to work and not to wear uniforms.

The Customs CG however appeared before the Nigerian senate last week in mufti and was sent back by the Senate leadership over his non-appearance in uniform.

Nigerians who took a poll conducted by Herald noted that they would love to see the Customs boss appear before the Nigerian senate in his official uniform seeing as he has never worn his uniform since 2015 when he was appointed into office.

51 percent of Nigerians who took the poll voted to have Hameed Ali appear before the Senate this week in his Customs uniform.
