An actor and blogger, Chris Bassey has been picked up by men of the Enugu State Command of the Nigerian Police Force after placing a phone call to either prank or humiliate his ex-girlfriend.

What was supposed to be an expensive joke became more than Bassey bargained for, after he prank called Arik Airlines and told them a passenger on the outgoing flight to Lagos from Enugu was infected with the dreaded Ebola Virus Disease.

The passenger turned out to be Mr. Bassey’s ex-girlfriend and he had threatened her before hand that he would pull the stunt if she refused his marriage proposal.

Turns out she wasn’t feeling his game and turned down the proposal. At this point, Mr. Bassey reportedly turned up and in order to show her, placed the call.

Popular blogger, stelladimokokorkus broke the news on her web platform yesterday.

According to her reports:

Funny enough, the girl told airport and Arik officials that she knew why the plane was diverted that she was sure her boyfriend (Chris Bassey) called them. She said she was not infected by the virus that the boy threatened to give her public embarrassment if she refuses to marry him. And true to her words, she tested negative to the virus. So, loverboy Chris Bassey (You can check him out on Google in case you dont know him) made a national hoax call because his girlfriend refused to remain in the relationship. ….And there were VIPS on that flight.

Meanwhile,Arik has moved in and arrested Chris Bassey, he is currently in Police custody in Enugu, waiting to be transferred to Lagos. Another twist to it now is that, Enugu police commissioner has refused to release him to police officers sent from Lagos to fetch him.
