My Administration Fought Corruption Without Making Noise – Goodluck Jonathan

The former president, Goodluck Jonathan yesterday while speaking at the Oxford Union of the University of Oxford, UK has stated that his administration invested a lot into the anti-corruption fight.

The former president further noted that his administration provided a platform for anti-corruption agencies to function effectively without making noise about it.

Speaking on the theme: “Promoting Youth Entrepreneurship”, Jonathan said: “We reformed the institutions and introduced various mechanisms to stop the corruption problems in our country without publicity.”

The former president further took to his social media page on Twitter to write: “any Nation that does not spend its wealth and resources to develop the capacity of its youth, will be forced to use them to fight insecurity.”

He continued: “As a leader, you can decide through your policies to educate the youth, or face the consequences of failing to do so.”

Further acknowledging the Nigerian youth, Jonathan noted that his administration put in place policies which helped the nation grow.

He added: “Despite incredible challenges, Nigerian youths are achieving great things and placing Nigeria positively in the world map. They inspire us.”
