AFCON Finals: Moses Cleared, Emenike Still Doubtful

The health personnel of the Super Eagles have cleared Victor Moses to play in the finals against Burkina Faso today. However Emmanuel Emenike’s appearance is still doubtful.

According to a message on Moses’s twitter page, “Lot of people asking about my injury, I’m having treatment and hopefully should be fine for the final.”

Moses trained with the team Saturday evening as he kicked the ball and ran around without any hint of pain.
“Moses has a good chance of playing the final. It has been put at 80% and he has agreed to play beyond the pain barrier,” a team official said according to MTNfootball.com.

Emenike’s appearance is in doubt as the player hasn’t featured in any training since the Eagles defeated Mali last week Wednesday.

Speaking on the speculations concerning the health of both players, Coach Stephen Keshi said he would only be able to confirm at the last minute whether the duo would play or not.

He said, “I can understand the apprehension of the public over the two players but we must be a little patient, because I know that the two of them want to play in the final and the medical team is working round the clock.”
