After Adeboye: Oyedepo, Kumuyi, Olukoya To Also Relinquish G.O Positions

Following the Redeemed Christian Church of God’s General Overseer, Pastor E.A. Adeboye’s move to relinquish his position as the General Overseer of the church’s arm in Nigeria, other General overseers including Bishop David Oyedepo, Williams Kumuyi and D.K. Olukoya of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles ministry are expected to follow suit.

The move by the RCCG’s pastor comes in line with the Financial Regulations Council, FRC’s regulation which stipulates that heads of all registered churches, mosques and civil society should not exceed the 20 years mark in office.

Based on the stipulation, other clerics including Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries who has spent 22 years as the general overseer of the ministry, Bishop David Oyedepo of Winners Chapel who has spent 35 years, Bishop Mike Okonkwo of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission who has also spent 35 years in service, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi of the Deeper Life Bible Church who has spent 43 years, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor of Word of Life Bible Church, 29 years, Rev. Chris Okotie of the Household of God who has also spent 29 years as the General Overseer of the ministry will be affected.

Other clerics affected by the regulation include: Kingsway International Christian Centre’s Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo (24 years), Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of Believers’ Love Word International (26 years), House on the Rock’s Pastor Paul Adefarasin (22 years), Pastor Samuel Abiara of Christ Apostolic Church (39 years), Pastor Sam Adeyemi of Daystar Christian Centre (21 years), Pastor Tunde Bakare of Latter Rain Assembly (27 years) and many other general overseers.
