Alhaji Yero Sworn In as Kaduna’s New Governor

Since there cannot be a vacuum in Government, the position of the Governor of Kaduna State, Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa who died in an air crash on Saturday has to be filled and the man for the job is the late Governor’s Deputy, Alhaji Mukhtar Ramalan Yero who was sworn in on Sunday in accordance with the 1999 Constitution.
The new Governor, a close ally of Vice President Namadi Sambo worked as an Accountant in the Vice President’s private company.  He became Commissioner of Finance when Architect Mohammed Namadi Sambo was elected governor in 2007 and was chosen as the Deputy Governor to Patrick Yakowa in 2010.

Alhaji Yero was born on May1, 1969 in Anguwan Kaura, Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
He had his primary education at LEA Primary School Kaura between 1974 and 1980  after which he proceeded to Government Secondary School, Ikara and Government Day Secondary School, Zaria for his secondary education.

He bagged a diploma in Banking in 1988, a B.Sc in Accounting in 1991, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration in 2003.
During the mandatory National Youth Service Corps, he served in Ogun State, he worked in several private firms and banks.
In 1997, he joined Nalado Nigeria Limited, Kaduna, a company owned by his mentor and Vice President Namadi Sambo as Chief Accountant, rising to become its Director of Finance and Administration.  In 2007, he resigned when he was appointed Kaduna State Commissioner of Finance.
