Angry Youth Strip Two Women Naked Over Allegations Of Wicthcraft

Two women accused of witchcraft were stripped naked and threatened with dangerous weapons including machetes in Irri, Isoko South Local Government Area, Delta State, on Wednesday.

They were subjected to the humiliation following the death of a man in the community who took ill under mysterious circumstances.

According to reports, the man, Joseph Akpore, died after several shouts of witchcraft attacks, which he could not elaborate.

It was gathered that on learning of Akpore’s death, youths in the area numbering over two thousand became incensed, going on rampage to identify the so-called witches.

According to Tobore Ejiro, a youth leader in the community who spoke to Leadership, the youths did not know who the witches were.

However, he said the youths would take action when it is established that a certain individual was a witch, including banishing the individual from the community.
