Authorities arrest drug peddlers for smuggling $4m heroine In furniture

Three drug peddlers, Jorge Pizarro, 41, Nelson DeJesus, 40, and Miguel Angeles, 27, have been arrested for smuggling heroin in pieces of household furniture, which was transported from Texas and kept in  Bronx storage unit. 

According to city special Narcotics prosecutor, Bridget Brennan, more than $4.1million was stashed in compartments of the tables during the discovery.

Investigations reveal that the storage unit was rented in Pizarro ‘s name, who has also been under close watch by the Authorities who believe he was involved in the interstate narcotics -trafficking operations that shuttles from Texas to Newyork and Lawrence, where the drugs are sold.

The officials also disclosed that the money which was recovered is meant to be used in purchasing another shipment of heroin.

The suspects have been arraigned before court and Pizarro held on $750,000 bail, Dejesus on $300,000 while Angeles was arraigned on $100,000 bail.
