According to report, the scans conducted during her pregnancy period revealed she was to have a set of twins and the nurses at the medical facility in which she put to bed had prepared two cots for the babies only to be shocked when the conjoined twins were birthed.

The baby has since been transferred to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) for advance care.

Speaking on the rare case, a nurse at the facility said: “As I speak to you, the mother doesn’t know the condition of the babies. She still believes and expects to carry her twins. We haven’t told her yet. Only her husband was brought into the theatre to see his children and he was the one who went with the doctors to LUTH.”

The rare medical situation experienced is known as Parapagus in which there are two heads and two necks developed side by side on one torso.

Doctors at the medical facility have however revealed that the heads can not be separated since they both share arms, legs and other vital organs.
