Diamond Bank has donated a two-unit radio transmitter to Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) for its proposed Traffic Radio station, the
Public Education Officer of the corps, Mr Bisi Kazee, said.

Kazeem made this known in a statement on Saturday in Abuja.

He stated that the proposed station was meant for advocacy, enlightenment, education and in addition to traffic control.

This, according to him, will facilitate free flow of vehicular and human traffic across the country, with direct positive impact on trade and the economy in general.

He noted that the Managing Director of Diamond Bank, Pascal Dozie, who presented the transmitters at a brief ceremony in Lagos, said nothing was too big to be sacrificed for safety of lives and property.

Kazeem stated that the Corps Marshal, Dr Boboye Oyeyemi, applauded the
bank for supporting the corps’ road safety projects.

Oyeyemi explained that the station would take off at the corporate headquarters of the FRSC in Abuja, and later be upgraded to serve the whole country.

The Traffic Radio, he added, would alert motorists about traffic congestions, crashes, obstructions, as well as disseminate road safety jingles and programmes to the public.

Oyeyemi emphasised that road safety was everyone’s business and urged other multinationals to emulate the bank by contributing their quota to successful take-off of the radio station.

He promised that the corps would make good use of the equipment. (NAN)
