Buhari Forwards Names Of 5 Nominees For CBN’s Non-Executive Directors To Senate

Following the president, Muhammadu Buhari’s absence at the yesterday’s Federal Executive Council, FEC meeting which was presided over by the vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, President Buhari has forwarded five names of nominees for the non-executive directors of the CBN to the National Assembly.

Recall that the Information Minister, Lai Mohammed had revealed that the president had more important business to deal with hence his absence from the FEC meeting.

Alhaji Lai Mohammed’s statement came hot on the heels of speculations that the president might have been bed ridden due to his health leading to his absence from the FEC meeting.

The president however in the letter to the Senate President, Abubakar Bukola Saraki listed the names of the nominees which he personally recommended to the National Assembly and their geo-political zones.

The nominees sent to the Senate by the president include:

1. Professor Ummu Ahmed Jalingo – North East

2. Professor Justitia Odinakachukwu Nnabuko – South East

3. Professor Mike I. Obadan – South South

4. Dr. Abdu Abubakar – North West

5. Adeola Adetunji – South West.
