Buhari Reacts To Nigerian Army’s Accidental Killing Of Citizens In Borno Settlement

The president, Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to the accidental discharge of bullets by the Nigerian Army fighter jets which resulted in the death of some civilians and humanitarian aid workers in Borno state.

The fighter jet belonging to the Nigerian Army had earlier today accidentally opened fire on some aid workers and civilians in Borno during an operation in Kala Balge, Borno State.

In reaction to the accidental discharge, the president in his message to Nigerians commiserated with those who lost their lives in the attack.

Buhari on his official Twitter account wrote: “I received with regret news that the Air Force, working to mop up Boko Haram insurgents, accidentally bombed a civilian community in Rann, Borno State.

“I sympathise with the families of the dead, and with the injured, and the Government and people of Borno State.

“The Federal Government will fully support the Borno State Government in dealing with the situation and attending to the victims.”
