Following the collapse of a part of one of the big shopping complexes being constructed in Itoku, Abeokuta in Ogun state killing several persons, the Ogun state government has released a press statement addressing the sad incident.

Ogun State government has confirmed the partial collapse of a four-storey building at Itoku area of Abeokuta. The building was still under construction when it caved in, Friday morning.
However, there are no casualties, while rescue mission is still ongoing.
The State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, who is presently on the site of the incident, has assured that the cause of the collapse will be investigated, while also asking the good people of Ogun State to remain calm and cooperate with the rescue team.
The Governor also said integrity test will be conducted on the other part of the building to determine its fitness.
