Great news for all fans of the sultry singer as she’s going to become the first artiste to ever perform at the footballing showpiece.
The final which will take place at the San siro, home of AC Milan and Internazionale, is set to play host to an expected 80,000 crowd.
Keys’ performance will also be broadcast to over 200 nations.
The Champions league final is one of the most watched sporting events ever on TV with hundreds of millions tuning in to watch the event.
The singer is elated saying “My mother’s family is from Italy, so whenever I go, I always feel the most loved,” she said. “I feel like it’s a homecoming of love in a lot of ways. This is going to be a powerful moment in history and one that represents the spirit of all the similarities we share no matter where we live and who we are. I’m honoured to be a special part of such a beloved experience.”
In a statement, UEFA said the inclusion of the No One singer would “heightens even further the appeal of the match,” and goes along with UEFA’s intentions to “merge the worlds of world-class music, entertainment and sports, as well as celebrate design and fashion as a nod to the host city, Milan”.
Keys has refused to name the new songs she’d be performing at the event. On the matter she said “I have to leave it as a surprise for sure ’cause that’s … part of the fun of it,”
