The China Organ Donation Administrative Centre said that it got 104,538 new organ donation volunteers in 2016.
The centre said that the number was almost 100 times more than in 2010.
The centre added that more than 60 per cent of the donors were young or middle-aged.
Data revealed that almost 11,300 vital organs were donated nationwide in 2016, an increase of 45 per cent from 2015.
By the end of 2016, China had recorded 9,996 cases of post-death organ donation, resulting in the 27,613 vital organs. (Xinhua/NAN)
