Researchers at Nankai University in Tianjin, China have created the first-ever mind-controlled car driven only by thoughts.

Using just thoughts, the wearer can completely control the car without lifting a finger. He or she can make the car to go forward, backwards, stop, and also lock and unlock the car’s doors with the mind.

Researcher Zhang Zhao while speaking with Reuters said “The computer processes the signals to categorize and recognize people’s intention, then translates them into control command to the car.

“There are two starting points of this project. The first one is to provide a driving method without using hands or feet for the disabled who are unable to move freely; and secondly, to provide healthy people with a new and more intellectualized driving mode.”

Telekinesis, the ability to control physical objects using only thoughts, it is currently the subject of real world research projects known in the science community as a brain-computer interface (BCI).
