A cleric identified simply as Paul has been arrested by the Delta State Police Command after he allegedly kidnapped a lady and raped her for a week.

Paul allegedly kidnapped 21-year-old Esther from the vigil of a Living Faith Church Worldwide (aka Winners’ Chapel) branch opposite his shop in Ibusa, Asaba, Delta state on January 12.

According to The Punch, the victim had gone with her family for a vigil at their Winners Chapel local church when she disappeared.

She was later found on Thursday, January 18 in Paul’s shop opposite the church, where he sold spiritual materials and lived.

Paul, who owned a church that has since been closed down, allegedly hypnotised, abducted and raped her.

Paul allegedly made her swear not to leave him or risk instant death, which caused the lady to refuse to follow her family members when they busted his shop.

The case has been reported at the A Division of the Nigerian Police Force in Delta.
