A judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Adeniyi Ademola has voluntarily resigned from his post months to his March 2018 statutory retirement from service.

His letter of resignation was dated December 6, 2017 and took effect immediately, but was received on Thursday, December 7 by the Office of the Acting Chief Judge of the Federal High Court.

Justice Ademola, his wife Olabowale, and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Joe Agi were charged on an 18-count charge bordering on corruption by the Federal Government but a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory struck out the case in April.

The court held that the Federal Government failed to prove the cases against the accused.

Reasons for the voluntary retirement were not stated in the one-paragraph letter.
