Batch A stream 2 corps members in Karaye, Kano got rowdy during their passing out ceremony over unpaid allowances.

The problem for them was that they had yet to receive their first allowance which is usually paid before they leave orientation camp.

Sahara Reporters reports that the protesters disrupted the passing-out parade attended by Kano State Commissioner of Information Moh’d Garba.

Kano State NYSC Coordinator Malam Abdullai Yusuf Baba was of the opinion that the corps members should have received their first payment alerts either at 4 PM on Tuesday or early Wednesday morning.

The corps members rent the air with chants of “Hey hey yawah go dey. Hey hey yawah go dey if allowee no pay, yawah go dey.” Garba tried to calm the corners down to no avail.

The NYSC officials finally relented and brought the money from the bank to the corners.

The protest lasted for over 3 hours until their money was finally brought to them.

Garba commended the corners on not letting the protest devolve into something else saying,
“I will not condemn you for expressing your displeasure. I know we are passing through a tense economic situation,”
