Dapchi: I’m Happy My Child Didn’t Denounce Jesus – Father Of Unreleased Girl

1 Min Read

Mr Nata Salibu, the father of Leah Salibu, who Boko Haram have reportedly refused to release for being a Christian has spoken on the matter.

Leah was one of the 110 girls declared unaccounted for when Boko Haram invaded the Government Girls Science and Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe State on February 19.

Boko Haram on Wednesday morning returned the abducted girls, without Leah, who they reportedly refused to release for refusing to denounce Christ.

Nata Salibu praised his daughter’s courage but prayed for her release.

The girl’s father said, “All of them were released. They said some were dead there and my daughter is alive but they cannot release her because she is a Christian,” he said.

“They gave her the option of converting in order to be released but she said she will never become a Muslim… I am very sad but I am also jubilating too because my daughter did not denounce Christ.”
