In this Divorce Court, the wife is against the husband marrying a new wife who is also a family friend. The husband is seeking a divorce whilst the wife is angry that the husband had been secretly dating their “friend”.

Tribune reports:

A retired civil servant in Oyo State, Alhaji Sulaimon Agunbiade, has sought a divorce from his wife, Moromoke, at Mapo Grade ‘C’ Customary Court, Ibadan, Oyo State capital for her alleged resistance of his marriage to another woman.

Sulaimon told the court he was married  to Moromoke for 12 years and that their union was blessed with two children.

Sulaimon who lives at 4/360B, Oyekola Street, Oje, Ibadan, sought divorce from Moromoke on the allegation that she had  stopped him from taking another wife.

“I want to take another wife, but Moromoke had kept  frustrating  all my efforts by making things difficult for me.

“She is too jealous. I can’t cope with her any longer.

“The only way out of this problem is to separate us,” Suliamon said.

responding, Moromoke debunked  Sulaimon’s allegations, stating that she would never allow him to marry the woman.

Moromoke, who lives at Najimu House, Aare Alaasa, Oja Oba, Ibadan told the court that the woman her husband wanted to marry was her friend, while Sulaimon was also a friend to her husband when he was alive.

“I’m against my husband’s   marriage to this woman because her late husband was a  close friend to my husband while she was also my friend. In fact, we were family friends.

“When her husband was alive, my husband used to settle their differences anytime they had  misunderstanding.

“I never knew that my husband and this  woman had been going out even before the death of her husband.
