Django Girls is a non-profit organization that empowers and helps women to organize free, one-day programming workshops by providing tools, resources and support. It started in July 2014 in Berlin.

With a goal of bringing more amazing women into the world of technology and increasing the diversity in the Django community, Django Girls believe that technology is for people, and hence, everyone should be able to build it.

With this in mind, Django Girls have decided to organize a one-day programming workshop for women in Lagos. This workshop will be free for all selected participants.

Application for the workshop closes on the 24th of January. Given that the slots available are few, early applications will be prioritized.

Also, no previous programming knowledge is needed. All that is required is that interested participants possess a laptop and a desire to learn.

This is a welcome development in Nigeria, as this will provide the country with more skilled programmers and potential entrepreneurs. Interested people should apply here.
