Drunk Nigerian Policeman Allegedly Shoots 3 civilians in Warri

A police officer, Inspector Samuel Imana stationed at area command in Warri, Delta state allegedly shot three persons by mistake yesterday, while purpotedly under the influence of alcohol at a child’s dedication ceremony.

According to Sapele Olofofo, two of the victims, one Elvis Kugbere and another man have been confirmed dead, while the last one is in a coma at University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH).

This happened at Ejewo Street, Off Okere Ugberikoko Road, Warri, Delta State.

According to an eyewitness, Inspector Imana accompanied three Yahoo boys (Internet Fraudsters) to a baby dedication.

Trouble started when the yahoo boys started spraying money. Samuel was said to have pointed his gun in the air and started shooting in a display of loyalty.

Suddenly, the inspector pointed his gun directly at the crowd at close range and started shooting at them.

The first victim was initially rushed to a nearby hospital before he was transferred to Syrracase Hospital where he eventually died.

The Delta State Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, confirmed the incident, noting that the policeman is under investigation and he is being tried for professional misconduct.
