EFCC Reveals The Owner Of Ikoyi Apartment Where $43billion Was Found

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has revealed that the owner of the Ikoyi building where it recovered the sums of $43,449,947, £27,800 and N23, 218,000.

The anti-graft agency according to report revealed that the Ikoyi apartment, Flat 7B, No. 13, Osborne Road, Osborne Towers located in Lagos state belongs to Mrs. Folashade Oke, the wife of the suspended Director General of the National Intelligence Agency, NIA, Ayo Oke.

The anti-graft agency further revealed that the wife of the suspended NIA DG, Ayo Oke made a cash payment of the sum of $1.658m as payment for the purchase of the flat between August 25 and September 3, 2015.

EFCC revealed that its investigation led to the discovery that the apartment was purchased by Mrs. Oke with payment made to one Fine and Country Limited in the name of a company, Chobe Ventures Limited which her son, Master Ayodele Oke Junior, is a director.

The EFCC further revealed that the payment for the apartment was made in tranches of $700,000, $650,000 and $353,700 to a Bureau de Change company, Sulah Petroleum and Gas Limited, which was responsible for converting the money to N360,000,000 which was subsequently paid to Fine and Country Limited for the purchase of the property.

The revelations were made as the EFCC tendered the receipt issued by the selling company, Fine and Country Limited to Chobe Ventures Limited as an exhibit before the Federal High Court in Lagos.
