Elechi Urges Politicians to Be Peaceful and Tolerant In Electioneering Activities

Ebonyi State Governor, Mr Martin Elechi has urged politicians to be peaceful and tolerant in their electioneering activities so as to deepen the cause of democracy and widen the space for political participation in achieving a successful 2015 election.

Elechi who spoke during a New Year party at the Government House in Abakaliki said “as we commemorate the birth of our Lord and saviour, let us all observe the eternal message of peace which remains the cornerstone of Christ’s ministry.

“The celebration of this year’s Christmas and New Year that follows is coming at a very important juncture in the life of our state and nation, being a period of elections and political transition.

“I bring Ebonyi citizens and all Nigerians, tidings of love and good wishes to mark the season while thanking them for all support and steadfast prayers for me and the state government.

“I also count on your continued partnership to further the frontiers of development of our state and nation at large.”
