Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso announced on Saturday that the State Government will announce the successor to the Emirship today.
The top three contenders for the post are former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mallam Lamido Sanusi; Abbas Sanusi the Wamban Kano who is the son of the late Emir, Alhaji Sanusi and Alhaji Nasir Ado Bayero, the son of the late Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero.
The Kingmakers who visited the governor yesterday were the Madakin Kano, Yusuf Chigari; the Sarkin Dawaki, Bello Abubakar; the Makaman Kano, Abdullahi Ibrahim; and Sarkin Bai, Mukhtar Adnan.
