Minister of Power and Works, Babatunde Fashola once awarded a $500,000 contract for a website to be built for him. The website was built and developed while he was a sitting governor for the sum of N78 million or $500,000 at the then exchange rate.

According to checks by The Herald NG, that website is no longer operational.

Fashola came under fire in 2015, when it was revealed he spent the astonishing sum to build a personal website.

The contractor also caused more uproar after it was revealed that he only collected N10 million for the job.

Facing scrutiny, the former governor said then that N12 million was actually awarded for the upgrade of the site while other services such as the handover countdown clock, mobile apps for Google, for iOS ipad, for Microsoft, and Blackberry and the annual maintenance cost for managing the site make up the total of N78 million.

As at now the website which cost taxpayers exorbitant sum of money is currently non operational.

A visit to the website tundefashola.com gives the following message: The website you were trying to reach is temporarily unavailable.
