Following the impeachment and replacement of Momoh Lawal, the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly and some other officials of the House, Federal lawmakers have ruled against the decision, declaring it null and void.

The Federal House of Representatives in its declaration considered the move by the five lawmakers to impeach the State House of Assembly Speaker as disgraceful and embarrassing to the institution of legislature.

The Federal Lawmakers have also requested the Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase, to seal off the State House of Assembly Complex.

The decision of the House of Representatives was based on reports of the Ad-hoc committee it set up to investigate into the matter.

The committee was led by Hon. Pally Iriase.
