FG To Take 2-Week-Break from Fighting The Niger Delta Militants

In the light of the escalating situation in the Niger Delta, the Federal Government have decided to change tactics as to how to deal with the Militants.

To do this, the federal government are therefore considering taking a step back from the fighting in the region and scaling down military activity in a bid to further dialogue.

The militants according to reports are ready for a fight and even claimed to have missiles at their disposal.

Dr. Ibe Kachikwu who was addressing newsmen said that the 2 week ceasefire period is basically to find a way to negotiate with the militants.

The ceasefire will therefore, allow a dialogue between the government and the militants to take place without any worries of violence.
