FirstBank Celebrates Workers’ Day, Supports the 7-Star Worker Conference

First Bank of Nigeria Limited, Nigeria’s Most Valuable Bank Brand, would join the rest of the globe to celebrate May Day and the contributions of workers to national and international polities. The Bank is particularly encouraged by the commitment of Nigerian workers and their relentless contributions in building our budding economy. Therefore, as part of the activities to mark the May Day, FirstBank has thrown its weight behind the 7-Star Worker conference to build exceptional workers who will contribute to the growth of successful businesses and play their part in building a strong Nigerian economy. The 2015 edition of the conference is themed ‘Growing SMEs into Global Businesses’ and will hold on May 1, 2015 at the Shell Hall, Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos.

The 7-Star Worker conference is focused on SMEs cognisant of their role in contributing to a higher proportion of Nigeria’s GDP. The conference provides an effective platform to equip workers with the requisite skills to excel in the workplace while it motivates aspiring entrepreneurs to start their own enterprises. Funke Opeke, CEO, Main one Cable, Nigeria Limited has been invited as keynote speaker while panelists at the event include Lazarus Angbazo, Managing Director/CEO, General Electric Nigeria; Amina Oyagbola, HR Executive, MTN Nigeria; Bayo Ogunnusi, Group Head, SMEs, Heritage Bank; Jason Njoku, CEO, Iroko TV; Yomi Awobokun, CEO, Oando Marketing; Yewande Sadiku, CEO, StanbicIBTC Capital; Bilikiss Adebiyi, CEO, Wecyclers; and Dayo Eweje, CEO, David Wej. Mrs. Jacinta Ike, Business Development Manager, FirstBank, will also join the panel on ’Growing SMEs’ The conference is designed to inform and inspire participants to become world-class in their outlook, increase productivity in the work place, and elaborate on key factors in starting and keeping a business.
