A French engineer has escaped from a terrorist camp where he was held hostage for more than 11 months.
The 63 year old man, Francis Collomp was abducted in Rimi, Katsina State during an official assignment for his company.
Kaduna Police Commissioner, Olufemi Adenaike, presented the man to journalists at police headquarters yesterday. He said, “The man escaped from the kidnappers on Saturday through the bush at Dan Magaji village in Zaria, Kaduna State. He saw an Okada man and told him to take him to the nearest police station. This is how far I can go for security reasons.”
The Police handed him over to French embassy officials who are said to have made arrangements to fly him back to France today.
