The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) on Wednesday advised motorists to always return to collect the original driver’s licence after they had applied for it.
The Public Relations Officer, FRSC, Mr Bisi Kazeem, gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.
Kazeem said that it had come to the notice of the commission that after issuing a temporary driver’s licence to drivers, they do not return to collect the permanent one.
“We are hereby advising the public to always come back to the FRSC’s Headquarters to collect their permanent driver’s licence after issuing them with a temporary one, rather than complaining unnecessarily.
“People complain without actually verifying the true situation of things. most people when you give them temporary driver’s licence they just assume it is a permanent one.
“They will not make any attempt to come back to the FRSC’s office to collect the permanent one and even when they come and you tell them it was ready, it ends there,’’ Kazeem said.
He said that most of the licenses were already printed out and ready for collection, but the that the applicants would not come to collect them as they should. (NAN)
