Fuel Scarcity: Presidency Opens Up About Kachikwu’s Claims

As regards the current fuel scarcity plaguing the county, the presidency has opened up about recent claims by the Petroleum Minister , Dr. Ibe Kachikwu.

The Presidency, through its spokesman, Femi Adesina, backed claims by the Petroleum minister that Nigeria’s foreign reserve is empty.

It was also revealed that when the government took over there was fuel subsidy deficit which has been reduced to N600 billion.

Femi Adesina made this known whilst granting an interview to Radio Continental 102.3 FM, Continental Sunrise on Friday, April 22.

On the fuel scarcity what is exactly going on as Nigerians felt this would not happen in the administration of President Buhari?

During Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday, April 20, the minister of petroleum Ibe Kachikwu briefed the council of the fuel situation. He gave 8 reasons why there is that crisis. If you hear the reasons you would be very sad for Nigeria. One of the reasons he gave is that when this government took over there was fuel subsidy deficit which has been reduced to N600 billion one is still hanging. Another is there was no single drop of reserve left, how can a country not have any reserve.
