The International Police (INTERPOL) in Abuja is investigating the disappearance of generators worth N24 million, packaged to be shipped from Birmingham, United Kingdom to Nigeria.
A UK-based Nigerian businessman and representative of a shipping company in the UK, was arrested but later released while on a visit to Nigeria, over his alleged involvement in the missing goods.
Media sources gathered that the indicted company was contacted by another Nigerian businessman to ship three heavy duty power generating sets and other items to Nigeria, three months ago.
