‘God’s will will be done in Akwa Ibom, come 2015’ – Godswill Akpabio

Akwa Ibom State is currently in a state of political musing as Governor Godswill Akpabio has moved to sack the second most powerful man in the state political macinery, his former ally, and Secretary to the State Government Umana O. Umana.

Their falling out, reportedly caused by 2015 miscalulations on the part of Umana, who is nursing gubernatorial ambitions, led to his sacking by Governor Akpabio.

Credible sources say the Governor and Chief Security Officer of Akwa Ibom, Akpabio dispatched SSS operatives and a small army of mobile policemen to cordone the SSG’s office and cart away crucial documents.

“We have been asked to check for vital documents, we are simply obeying orders from above,” one of the security man said.

Umana declared hsi intention to run for Governor, one week ago displeasing the governor. In response to the declaration, Akpabio said at a PDP caucus meeting, “Whoever goes about giving money to people in the name of 2015 elections is doing that at his volition, I have not anointed anyone to succeed me, I have always said that God’s will will be done in the state, come 2015.”
