Gov. Dickson’s aide Kidnapped

Captain Henry Ungbuku (rtd), an aide to the Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson has been kidnapped by gunmen on Sunday.

The kidnapped aide serving as the Special Adviser on Aviation to the Bayelsa State Governor was abducted after service by gunmen as he was leaving the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Light House Parish.

The kidnapping occurred around 10 AM prior to which the gunmen had laid siege to the church located in Iwofe, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Delta State as reported by an eyewitness.

The eyewitness informed authorities that unsuspecting Ungbuku was stopped by one of the abductors as he drove out of the church premises, ordered out of his vehicle at gunpoint into a waiting vehicle after which he was driven off to an unknown destination.

“They were about four, but we did not know whether there are others hanging around the premises of the church. They forced him out of the car at gunpoint and took him away.

“There was confusion around the premises of the church when the incident happened. The kidnappers were all armed and many people who saw the scene were all scared,” the eyewitness reported.
