One policeman has been reported dead and three other persons injured in an armed robbery attack carried out by unknown gunmen in Owerri.
According to report, the robbery attack carried out at Diamond Bank located on Item Street in Owerri, Imo State was aimed at dispossessing an expatriate contractor of his money.
The contractor who was at the bank to carry out some financial transactions in company of his police orderly was reported to have been attacked leading to the death of the policeman.
According to @IfeanyiCy, the gunmen shot the policeman who was brave enough to challenge the gunmen even after he was wounded.
The gunmen were however repelled after meeting with an unexpected amount of firepower from the police officers attached to the bank.
The police officer identified as Hussain Jamaiz, was reported to have died and his body has since been evacuated and taken to the morgue by the officers of Imo State Police Command.
