Gunman Shoots Donald Trump’s Friend And US Senator, Steve Scalise At Congressional Baseball Practice

The Donald Trump-led administration has faced yet another major attack as the US President’s friend and Senator, Steve Scalise was shot in Alexandria, Virginia while at a practice for the congressional baseball team.

The US Senator was shot in the hip alongside two Capitol Hill Policemen.

The attack on the US Senator has been described by both congressional and law enforcement sources to be a “deliberate attack”.

The Alexandria Police department is current investigating the shooting as another Senator, Mo Brooks, narrowly escaped being shot.

Mo Brooks explained that there were a number of congressmen and congressional staffers lying on the ground adding that at least one of them was wounded.

He further added that he used his belt as a tourniquet to help one of the victims who was hit by the shooter who appeared to be a white male.

Mo Brooks said: “I saw him for a second or two. The gun was a semiautomatic, It continued to fire at different people. You can imagine, all the people on the field scatter.”

The Alexandria Police‏since launching rapid investigation into the shooting tweeted that the “suspect is in custody and not a threat”.

The United States president also reacted to the shooting stating that the White House is aware and closely following the situation.
