Max Air Limited said it had so far returned no fewer than 23,000 pilgrims to Nigeria since the commencement of airlift of pilgrims after the 2017 Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
This is contained in a statement by the Airline’s Public Relations Manager, Alhaji Ibrahim Dahiru in Kano on Sunday.
According to him, the pilgrims were transported back to Nigeria from the Holy land through various airports in 45 flights.
He said the airline had made seven trips each for Sokoto and Katsina States in addition to eight flights for Zamfara.
He said that the airline also made four trips for Kaduna pilgrims, three trips for Kwara, one for Kogi, while Kano and Nasarawa States had two trips each.
Dahiru said that the airline also took a combined flight of pilgrims from Nasarawa and Kogi early Sunday morning.
He explained that the return date for Jigawa and Plateau pilgrims has been fixed for Sept. 27 and Sept. 29 respectively.
“Max Airline has Oct. 3 for its last flight for the returning pilgrims.
“The return airlift operation which commenced on Sept. 9 has been going on very smoothly,” the Airline’s spokesman said.
On the pilgrims luggage, Dahiru said the Airline has recorded huge success in this direction as over 75 per cent of the luggage arrived Nigeria ahead of the pilgrims.
