How Amazon Became the Biggest Company In the World

2 Min Read

Out of all online brands, Amazon is one of the most recognised. However, it wasn’t always the case!

In its beginnings, Amazon started as a simple online bookstore. It was only in later years that the company began to diversify into selling video downloads, MP3 downloads and audio books, electronics, furniture, food, jewellery, toys and much more.

In more recent years Amazon brought out its own electronic goods such as the Kindle e-reader, the Fire tablet, Fire TV and Echo. It is also the world’s largest provider of cloud infrastructure services, but also one of the biggest suppliers of sweet deals at 16Best.

So how big is Amazon today?

Well, currently Amazon has a total of 304 million users, with 30 million people using the Amazon mobile app every single month. On average, a customer will spend $700 per year on the site.

To cater for such a large number of people, the company needs to stock a lot of products. On average 1.3 million products are added to the site every single day. 34.7 items are shipped off every single second.

It is hard to imagine a business working on such a huge scale. People love the site because they can get pretty much anything they want there, often with free shipping to be delivered straight to their door in just a few days.

The brand has been around long enough for people to put a great deal of trust in it. The majority of people are happy to enter their payment information with the full belief that it will be safe.

It has clever tactics to encourage us to make a purchase, including following us with adverts of recently viewed items around the internet and sending reminders to our inbox.
