I didn’t criticise my father’s open letter – Iyabo Obasanjo

Sen. Iyabo Obasanjo, the daughter of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has lambasted those who recirculated a 2013 letter in which she criticised her father.

The letter had resurfaced days after the ex-president carpeted, in a ‘special statement’, the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, urging him not to seek reelection in 2019.

Iyabo Obasanjo charged the current administration to address the issues her father mentioned in the letter instead of trying to deflect attention by recirculating her old letter.

She also described her father as “one of the most brilliant leaders to ever emerge in modern Africa.”

Iyabo Obasanjo served as senator representing Ogun Central senatorial district from 2007 to 2011.

She equally joined calls urging Buhari to step aside from seeking reelection in 2019.
