Rotimi Akeredolu, Ondo state Governor-elect has said in an interview that he would not probe past governments of the state as he does not believe in such.

He said, “I don’t believe in probes. What I believe in is that I’ve been given a mandate to govern the state and when I come into office, I will face the task. The past is the past and I am one person who believes that government is a continuum”.

This statement however contradicts what the All Progressive Congress Publicity Secretary in Ondo state, Mr. Abayomi Adesanya said in an interview on Sunday.

Abayomi had said that the party will assist the Economic and Financial Crimes Comission to probe the tenure of outgoing Governor Olusegun Mimiko.

He said, “Already investigations are ongoing about the Mimiko government. If the anti-graft agencies such as the EFCC need any information from us to assist in their investigation, the incoming APC-led government will provide all the necessary assistance and information.”
