The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Board of Trustees, Senator Walid Jibrin, has said that he would have resigned if Ali Modu Sheriff won at the Supreme Court.

Recall that the PDP had been embroiled in a leadership tussle at the national level with Ali Modu Sheriff and Ahmed Makarfi leading separate factions of the party.

But on Wednesday, the Supreme Court ruled, and declared, Ahmed Makarfi as the genuine National Chairman of the party.

While reacting to the court ruling, the BoT chairman in a statement in Kaduna, said that the ruling marked a watershed in the party, adding that he would have resigned if it went the other way.
“I would have resigned as PDP BoT chairman if Sheriff had won,” he said .
