Following the news reported by online news medium, Premium Times, of the attack on the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello when he went for the 3rd Day Fidua Prayers of the Late Ejeh of Ankpa, Alhaji Ahmadu Yakubu, the Igala Youth Forum has come forward to deny the report which it described as blatant lies.

The group in a release signed by its Chairman, Alhaji Abu Kadiri, and Secretary, Comrade Ibrahim Achadu debunked the report noting that the people of Igala are not lawless and would never carry out such demeaning act.

The group further noted that the false report was aimed at causing confusion in the state.

“The Igalas are not lawless and will never act in such as reported by the ghost sources of the online news media.”

The statement further noted that the Governor upon arrival was welcomed by all and sundry in the area including the former Governor, Ibrahim Idris along with other prominent members of the community at the Ejeh’s Palace.

Taking action against the news website, the group accused the media portal of instigating unrest. It further called on the appropriate regulatory bodies to take neccesary measures in curbing such excesses.
