Ighalo Scores Brace; Makes History

Watford forward Odion Ighalo was named man of the match on Saturday after scoring a brace against West Ham before 20,598 spectators at Vicarage Road.

The Nigerian international had 5 goals in 10 games going into the match but went into the club’s history books after scoring in the 39th and 48th minutes of the encounter.

He became the highest goal scorer in the top flight for Watford, though he was substituted in the 85th minute.

Ighalo has now overtaken Heidar Heiguson and Hameur Bouazza who were on six goals.

Prior to the game, Slaven Bilic-tutored West Ham were unbeaten in 10 English Premier League games this season, and had recorded victories against Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City.

Watford has so far scored 10 goals this season and Ighalo contributed seven of them, with two assists.
