1 Min Read

Scientists have developed smart insulin patches that can monitor blood sugar levels, depending on the results, the patch can secrete doses of insulin directly into the bloodstream replacing the painful insulin injections.

The Patch is as a result of combined work of researchers from the NC State University and the University of North Carolina.

Zhen Gu, professor of biomedical engineering in the Joint UNC/NC State Department explained that the patch can be personalised for each patient.

The surface of the Coin-sized patch is covered in tiny needles, so tiny they could be mistaken for eyelashes.
