Intercontinental Hotel Siege In Kabul Ended With Death Toll At 18

A siege in Kabul at The Intercontinental Hotel ended on Sunday after all the assailants were killed.

In the pandemonium at the hotel when the invaders attacked at least 18 people were killed including hotel guests and staff also the building was set on fire.

Najib Danish the Interior Ministry spokesperson, stated the attack started at around 9pm local time.

Afghan Special Forces responded to that attack.

“Fourteen foreigners were killed and four Afghans.” Najib Danish told Afghanistan’s Tolo News, without specifying the nationalities involved.

Ukrainian officials have published that at least one Ukrainian is among the dead.

Built on a hilltop the hotel is heavily guarded as it was also attacked in 2011 by Taliban fighters.
