The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of planning to mobilise students of Igbo extraction to protest against the group’s pro-Biafra agitations.

In a Saturday statement posted on Radio Biafra’s website, IPOB said the party had earmarked N20 million for the anti-Biafra protests planned for the Cross Rivers state capital, Calabar.

The group however failed to state the time of the alleged protest.

The statement described the alleged plot by the APC as an “effort in futility”, stating that the party planned “to bribe the hungry and gullible educationally frustrated students in Biafra land to protest against the program that hold the hope for their future”.

The group also accused the Federal Government of plotting to frame detained Director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, by paying some individuals to falsely accuse him of terrorism charges.

In the statement, which was filled with anti-Nigeria rhetoric, the group charged the Department of State Security (DSS) to release Kanu, stating that the body had nothing to prove that he committed the offences for which he is being detained.
