The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Monday called for cooperation and partnership with the new Sarkin of Bwari, Alhaji Awwal Musa Ijakoro, to promote growth of the community.

JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, made the call when he led the management of the Board on a courtesy visit to the Sarkin’s palace in Bwari, FCT.

He said that they were at the palace to felicitate with the Sarkin on his recent appointment as Emir of the chiefdom.

According to him, when the former Emir passed on, it was painful to us and now that there is a new one it is normal that we share in the joy.

Oloyede said: “we are very happy that a new Emir is enthroned; since God has given us another royal father we will continue to interact and cooperate.

“Bwari has so many things to be proud of and one of the stars of the community is JAMB; anywhere in the world that is educated is aware JAMB is here.

“This is why we have come, to express hope that the relationship between us will continue, and to also pray that God will make this place an abode of peace.

“Without the cooperation of the former Sarkin, we would not have had a good time in Bwari; we promise to continue to contribute towards growth of the community.

“We are at your beck and call at anytime you think there is something to be done, call on us and we will be there to achieve meaningful goals.”

Responding, the Sarkin of Bwari thanked the Board for the visit, adding that he would do all within his power as the community leader to promote peace in the community.

He promised to run an open door policy that is devoid of religious or ethnic difference, but protect the rights of residents in the community.

According to him, I am ready to partner with you because since the establishment of JAMB in the community besides academic purpose, it has facilitated our community growth.

Ijakoro said, “JAMB has influenced a lot of social amenities being enjoyed in Bwari, there is no way you can say Bwari has not benefitted from the organisation.

“We count on your support in every ramification; just as you had a cordial relationship with my father, we look forward to cooperate with your management, to achieve success.”

NAN reports that high points of the visit were prayers for the Sarkin, signing of the palace register and pose for group photographs. (NAN)
