Inter Milan of Italy midfielder, Joel Obi is a huge doubt for next month’s 29th Africa Cup of Nations if reports on Inter Channel are anything to go by.
Obi’s injury problems have raised concerns over his chances of making the Eagles squad to next year’s Nations Cup as he has only played a bit-part role both in the qualifiers for the tournament and Inter Milan.

In fact he has played only twice for his Italian club this season, seeing only 127 minutes of action but he assured Nigerians in an interview on Brila FM,Lagos he would be fit for the African mundial.
“I’m happy I’m back in training, trying to get 100 per cent  fit and be ready for both my club and Nigeria.I will be fit for the Nations Cup. I still have more to give to Nigeria”, he had said in the
interview.

However, reports on Inter Channel say the Nigerian won’t be back in action for Inter until early next year and his return date has been fixed for January 6,2013 in Inter’s away game against Udinese.
Meanwhile Dutch Eredivise side, ADO Den Haag have revealed that former Flying Eagles defender,Kenneth Omeruo has been invited by Eagles coach,Stephen Keshi for the team’s pre-Nations Cup camp.

Holland’s number one paper, ELF Voetbal reports that the club has received Omeruo’s invitation letter for the pre-Nations Cup camp.
Spanish segunda division side,Villareal had last week also confirmed Ikechukwu Uche’s invitation albeit the Nigeria Football Federation and coach Keshi have not made public the list of foreign-based players that will join the 23 home lads who will begin preparations in Abuja this weekend.
